Education at

Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery

Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery houses an impressive collection of curios. The collection represents Merthyr Tydfil’s rich history; from the earliest Bronze Age inhabitants to the men, women and children of the industrial era, and beyond.

Years of collecting by the citizens of Merthyr Tydfil has also created a fascinating legacy in the form of personal collections, including natural history, artefacts from Ancient Egypt, Roman Britain and other historic cultures from around the world.  The Museum also holds an impressive collection of fine art, sculpture and ceramics including work by eminent artists such as Penry Williams, Thomas Prytherch and Sir Kyffin Williams.

The Education Programme is delivered between two sites; Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery and Joseph Parry’s Cottage, alongside opportunity for outreach sessions, project based work and supplementary resource support.
